Travel Guide: Los Angeles, CA

Posted by Estela Cockrell

I love LaLa land. It's one of the only places that as soon as I arrive, I feel right at home.

I love to hang in the Santa Monica area, Bellaire, and Malibu. With several friends who live in the area, I mostly just tag along to their fave spots, but here are a few of my musts when I visit LA and do the tourist thing:

Travel Guide: Los Angeles, CA

What to pack:

Hello,  Mini Glow on the Go Trio !  Perfect for the plane and essential for sun and travel, this kit keeps my skin in top shape.  I always get my base coat with some self-tanner + add body shimmer to give the day of touch of glow! (luv that glow). I pack  Juicy Bamboo wipes , Switch2Pure Glow  barzinc spray , and my Suntegrity  tinted SPF . Plus, I take all of my makeup like my   highlighters , this  eye palette , and  5 different lips from glosses to SPF lipstick to achieve a glowy and natural look! See our recent summer glow checklist here . With so much hiking and cool exercise classes to attend. I wear all of my  yoga pants and tops ! I definitely don’t leave home without my  collagenvegan protein or  feelin' alive - b vitamins for those possible travel slumps.

The Beverly Hills Hotel / Travel Guide: Los Angeles, CA

Where to stay:

  • The  Bel-Air Hotel is my fave get away
  • The  Beverly Hills Hotel super fun retro vibe
  • The  Montage is also really fun and great ambiance
  • If downtown, it's  NoMad or Hotel  Figueroa all the way (fun fact: built by women for women)
  • When in WeHo I am loving the new Edition, and find me hanging at  Sunset Tower or  Chateau Marmont or rooftop at the Edition (great views).

Things to do:

So many amazing hikes. From the Malibu Hills (many are sadly burned but still there are beautiful hikes all throughout the hills).  PS - great for people with asthma as you start at sea level.  YAY - me! Mount Baldy, Fish Canyon Loop, to Escondido Canyon Loop have been some of my favorite!

  • The Class by Taryn Toomey.
  • Malibu Country Mart for a little shopping.
  • Fred Segal (new one in WEHO)
  • Art crawl at all the cool emerging art galleries near Moma
  • I always try to grab some wellness treatments while in LA (inspo!)
  • Eyebrows by Damone. Love that man! He can frame a face!

  • Cafe- Gratitude - casual, easy yum and GF
  • Fonuts
  • Skinny Bitch Pizza - great GF pizza.
  • Tocaya - clean Mexican food. So yum! Even the corn and tacos are gluten-free and the vegan cheese not sweet!

Where to eat dinner:

  • Gracia Madres - meatless Mexican. Vegan organic. Yummy. And the cocktails divine!
  • Craig’s for an ole school scene
  • Nobu Malibu
  • Soho House Malibu (must get invited)
