Organic? Natural? Paraben and Cruelty Free?
We've made it easy for you by making Switch2Pure products organic, natural, nontoxic, cruelty and paraben free! However that's not the case for most mass marketing products on today's shelves. Let's cut through the marketing jargon and let us tell you the #PureTruth about what's on those product labels.
What are parabens? Parabens are a group of synthetic chemicals that are commonly found in health, beauty and skincare products. They're usually used as a preservative to increase the shelf-life of products. However, just because a product may be paraben free, does NOT mean it's nontoxic.
Maneuvering the Path to Clean Green (Products!)
Natural beauties like yourselves totally get the benefits of going "green." It's not only environmentally friendly but it's leaps & bounds better for you! You're all in -- Only thing is, you're not sure where to start or whom to trust. Trust us, We've been there! It can be so overwhelming to think, "Where do I begin?" and "What companies should I trust?" (p.s. you might even wonder, "Are the products that I use already really that bad?!") You could be tempted to throw in the towel and stick with your mass-marketed 'trusted' products.. But don't give up ladies because we've done ALL the research & testing for you! Which means, it's officially time to Ditch & Switch! Check out our non-toxic skincare collection HERE. Looking for clean makeup and other products that compliment our skincare line? Check out Bespoke Beauty.
The Truth on Harmful, Hidden Ingredients
The bottom line: "There's no real standard for "natural" or "organic" cosmetics, either," says Jane Houlihan, vice president for research at the Environmental Working Group. Terms don't provide consumers with any real guarantees about a product's ingredients. The Truth is that there's no standard, enforceable definition of a "non-toxic" or "environmentally friendly" or "pure." Between preservatives that include parabens to "fragrance" which can be considered a trade secret, and quats in cleaning products consumers are left throwing their hands up in defeat and often times getting hoodwinked by marketing. Luckily, we've done the work for you!
