Fave Health and Wellness Tip: Always start the day off with a rockin’ and vegan organic protein packed breakfast. It truly is vital for a successful day. If I'm working out in the morning I'll add S2P's Chocolate Protein to my smoothie. It's the best!
Fave S2P Product: I am loving the Well & Glow Facial Oil + Rose Quartz Roller.
Fave Beauty Products: Due to the true winter Houston (and my skin) faced, at the moment, I am loving body butter before bedtime and Be Glowy throughout the day. I love how bright and even the tone and texture of my skin is when moisturized.
Why I switched? I suffer from a handful of syndromes and autoimmune disorders, one being Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, where I am allergic to a very large percentage of ingredients (sometime even natural) that cause anaphylactic and other unfavorable reactions that are harmful to my health. After digging deeper into what were in my products, I was shocked to learn how damaging they were to us on a cellular level. Not only that but clean products tend to be vegan and better for our environment. It was a no brainer.
Fave Vacay Spot: Oh, gosh, I have wanderlust big time so it is impossible to choose just 1 place. To make it more generalized, I will just say the mountains. I used to be a very active person but after my multiple diagnoses, I was told I was no longer to do the things I loved that kept me in shape and those neurotransmitters pumpin’, like triathlons, yoga, cycling. I now go hiking all around the globe and I’ve never been happier. There is nothing more rewarding + peaceful to me than that view at the top.
Fave Blogger/Trendsetter: Jeannette Ogden with Shut the Kale Up and Katie Lemons with Twist of Lemons. They both are truly genuine in their passions, healthy factoids and recipes and are just down right entertaining to me. They keep it real while spreading the message of proper health and I dig it.
A lil about Casey.....
"I am Casey Barbles, a local Houstonian born and raised, and I absolutely love learning and then sharing my fun facts. I love the “why” behind anything, science and being an advocate for health. I started The Informal Grub a few years ago after being diagnosed with all my oddities as a way to educate myself and others on what to eat in order to heal. I work to spread awareness on what’s in our food and how the food we ingest directly affects our health and wellness. I have goals of becoming a nutritionist plus and am so excited for what’s to come."
