What's not to love about the Concrete Jungle?

Cue Lauren B.'s concrete jungle red polish, it as fierce as the New Yorkers we know. So much hustle 'n bustle, different areas with their own unique character. Which is your fave? Meatpacking, Soho, Lower East Side, Tribeca, Upper East Side, West Side, Lower East Side, Midtown? More of a DT girl myself! But, I do spend a lot of time uptown.

There's SO much to do and see in the Big Apple (make sure to put on your fave bold lips for this big city of black everything wearing new yorkers)! First-timers obviously need to hit up Times Square- think of Times Square like your fave highlighter. It's bright, glowing, and the attention-getter of NYC-the Empire State. Don't miss a shopping trip in Soho and afternoon cocktails. All the French bistros are a MUST (some have gluten free).

Where to STAY?

Nomad - love the location and the atmosphere (you can be up or down town in no time). Eclectic, cool, chic.

Beekman - Really great when you want to be stationed downtown. Rooms are stylish and perfect and the bar and dining is excellent. Great for a cocktail and near the new Four Seasons dt.

The Edition- love the location and the atmosphere (you can be up or down town in no time). Plus the bar and late night seen is good.

The Greenwich- Chic, tiny, and the restaurant Loconda Verde.

Mandarin Oriental - Chic, big and great modern rooms.

The Loews Regency New York Hotel - Great location and feels like home.

The Langham Hotel - Great modern hotel with spacious suites for family.

Kimpton Ink - Very reasonable and great for a quick business trip.

The James New York - A great reasonable hotel located in Nomad, quick trip type of place.

Plus, here's my favorite makeup look for going around the Big Apple. Big, bold looks for a big, bold city! Fashion Week anyone??

Use the Au Naturale All-Over Foundation stick for quick, light coverage. I love to use Staycation as a shimmery eyeshadow since it's our most pigmented body shimmer! After, I use the Au Naturale highlighter sticks on the top of my cheekbones, under the brow, and right over my lip to highlight the high points. I top it off with New York Red lipstick and mascara! You'll be stopping traffic with this look!

Where to nibble:

I love to go or order Baby Cakes for GF, vegan treats (been making these recipes for my children since they were born).

Hu Kitchen on 5th Ave. is another GF, DF haven!

Lunch: I love to lunch at Bergdorf with friends or family. Bilboquet. Lacona Verde, Keste, The Little Beet, Keste.

Afternoon cocktails: The Nomad, The Edition, The Greenwich, something local in midtown the tiny (pocket bar).

Dinner: Polo Bar, Le CouCou, Nobu Downtown, Indochine, Catch NYC (and stay for the dance party), Torichin, Marea.

You really can't leave a NY trip without visiting Central Park, MOMA, or shopping in SOHO. Plus, I never a miss a trip to flagship Veronica Beard or stop at Zimmerman or Jefferies! I usually don’t have time on quick trips to New York, but with the children we love all the usual touristy places: Rockefeller Center, Madison Square Garden, Battery Park, and Radio City Music Hall, Central Park, and catching a great show.

The Oculus + World Trade Center is an awesome experience for them as well. It's a true tribute to those who fought and lost their lives on 9/11. They have done a beautiful job with the reflecting pools, the new World Trade Center, and the Oculus. It’s amazingly special.

I love NY. Switch2Pure has grown so much over the past two years and NY has been a big part of that growth.
